A Sweet Moment at PT: Abram’s Strength and Determination

9/6/2024

Today, I watched a sweet moment between my boy and his papa at physical therapy, and it really hit me how far we’ve come. It’s been four long years since Abram lost much of his mobility, and 15 months of intensive physical therapy—three times a week—dedicated to re-learning how to walk on feet that were severely affected and deformed by a failed Achilles surgery.

To say our kid is a badass is an understatement. Abram has shown more strength, determination, and resilience than I’ve ever seen in anyone, let alone a child. His progress has been nothing short of incredible. Most adults would have given up long ago, but not Abram. He continues to push himself every single day, despite the pain and setbacks, and every small victory feels like a triumph.

As a mom, I couldn’t be more proud of him. He’s not just overcoming physical challenges—he’s showing the world what true strength looks like.

    About Me

Erin is a green-haired, tattoo-covered mama powered by sarcasm, iced coffee, and the occasional emotional spiral.

She’s raising an incredible son with a rare genetic condition, advocating with sharp knowledge and a softer heart — because both matter.

She's trying not to lose her mind in a house that includes her husband, her son, her mother, a team of no less than five workers, and approximately 3,000 daily interruptions.

She’s got a sixth sense for fake people, a deep love for horror movies, and a soft spot for anyone who’s ever felt like too much and not enough at the same time.

Erin doesn’t pretend life is perfect. She shows up messy, honest, and real—whether she’s in advocacy mode, snack-fetching mode, or “why is everything a mess” mode.

She’s built of grit, wit, compassion, and just enough rage to get things done.
